Dr. Stacy Hahn is running for Hillsborough County Public Schools School Board, District 2 to make the dream of a quality education system a reality for our students, teachers, parents and community stakeholders alike. Her experience as an educator and lifelong advocate, Stacy is passionate about preparing our students for a lifetime of success, and supporting those teachers making a difference each and every day in the classroom.

Her career spans over two decades with positions at every level of K-20 spectrum, including: public school teacher, student advocate, grant facilitator, program coordinator, educational researcher, and university professor.  Stacy is currently the Director of Professional Development and Partnerships for the University of South Florida (USF), College of Education, as well as the Associate Director of the USF-David C. Anchin Center. Her efforts are designed to create strategic partnerships between the University and PreK-12 teachers, focused on the development of quality and relevant teacher preparation and support programs. In this role, Stacy works with USF faculty, multiple school districts, community leaders, and other education related agencies to create teacher education pathways and continuing education courses that will increase the responsiveness to the needs of school districts.

Stacy was a special education teacher and taught in both elementary and middle schools throughout the State of Florida. She was a faculty member in the USF, College of Education Department of Teaching and Learning where she taught both undergraduate and graduate courses. During this time, she also served as the coordinator of the special education undergraduate program. 

Her professional development initiatives include the following; USF Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI); Tutor-a-Bull; STEM Robotics Summer Institute, Mort Community School- Teacher Leadership; Pepin Summer Institute; Girls Powered STEM; Culturally Responsive Teaching Series; STEM Summit; Innovation in Education. 

Stacy also serves her community as a member of the After School All Stars Board of Directors and the Hillsborough County Children’s’ Services Advisory Board

Stacy earned her PhD in Special Education from the University of Florida. She has a passion for education and understands the effect quality schools have on our community. Stacy continues to follow a path that will have a positive impact on the education system.

Stacy lives in Tampa with her husband Jeff Hahn and three children Ethan, Jackson and Aidan, and their dog Murphy
