HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY COMMISSIONER STACY WHITE ENDORSES STACY HAHN FOR HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DISTRICT 2

Tampa, Fla., Thursday, July 12, 2018 – The Stacy Hahn campaign today announced it’s received the endorsement of Hillsborough County Commissioner Stacy White for the District 2, Hillsborough County School Board seat.

“Stacy Hahn is a principled leader who is best equipped to address the important policy issues that the School Board currently faces”, White said. “Stacy Hahn holds a Ph.D. in the field of education and has a firm grasp of the issues that the School Board must address. In addition to having academic credentials that will serve her well on the School Board, Stacy Hahn is who she says she is. She will roll up her sleeves and work hard to get our school district back on the right track.  Furthermore, she is personable and will undoubtedly be an elected leader that listens.”

White has served as the County Commissioner for District 4 since 2014. Prior to that, Stacy served as the District 4 member of the Hillsborough County School Board. He is a fifth-generation native of East Hillsborough County and graduated from East Bay High School.

“I am honored to have earned the endorsement of Commissioner White,” said Hahn. “He was a pragmatic leader on the School Board who always put the interests of parents, students, and teachers ahead of those of bureaucrats. I intend to lead with the same keen eye and pragmatic approach to the important issues facing this school district”.

Hahn’s career spans more than two decades with positions held at every level of the K-20 spectrum, including: public school teacher, student advocate, grant facilitator, program coordinator, educational researcher, and university professor. Anchin Center at USF. Her efforts are designed to create strategic partnerships between the University and PreK-12 teachers, focused on the development of quality and relevant teacher preparation and support programs.

She was a special education teacher and taught in both elementary and middle schools throughout the state of Florida. As a faculty member in the USF, College of Education Department of Teaching and Learning, she taught both undergraduate and graduate courses.

During this time, she also served as the coordinator of the special education undergraduate program.
