FORMER SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS AND HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT DR. EARL LENNARD ENDORSES STACY HAHN FOR SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 2

Tampa, Fla., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 – The Stacy Hahn campaign today announced it has received the endorsement of Former Supervisor of Elections and Hillsborough County Superintendent Dr. Earl Lennard.

“I know that when Stacy gets to the School Board she will hit the ground running from day one,” Dr. Lennard said. “She has the determination and knowledge necessary to steer our School Board in the right direction, and further propel the education of our students. Through her work as a teacher in Hillsborough County Public Schools and as a professor at the University South Florida, Hahn is ready and will do a wonderful job for our students, our concerned parents, business leaders, and the community of District 2.”

Dr. Lennard served as the Hillsborough County Superintendent from 1996 to 2005 and was named Superintendent of the Year in 2003. In 2010, he was appointed as the supervisor of elections, and served for one term before retiring. He would later be awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of South Florida’s College of Education for his achievements as a teacher and educational leader.

“I am honored to have earned the endorsement of Dr. Lennard,” said Hahn. “He continues to be an impactful leader within Hillsborough County for his work as superintendent and elections supervisor. I look forward to his support and guidance as I continue campaigning in District 2.”

Hahn’s career spans more than two decades with positions held at every level of the K-20 spectrum, including: public school teacher, student advocate, grant facilitator, program coordinator, educational researcher, and university professor. She is currently the director of professional development and partnerships for the University of South Florida’s College of Education, as well as the associate director of The David C. Anchin Center at USF. Her efforts are designed to create strategic partnerships between the University and preK-12 teachers, focused on the development of quality and relevant teacher preparation and support programs.

She was a special education teacher and taught in both elementary and middle schools throughout the state of Florida. As a faculty member in the USF, College of Education Department of Teaching and Learning, she taught both undergraduate and graduate courses. During this time, she also served as the coordinator of the special education undergraduate program.
